John Robertson is a consulting economist (via thebigpicture Economics) specialising in macro strategies and valuation methods for mining investment.
Through PortfolioDirect, he provides professional money managers with independent research and advice on portfolio strategies for mining and oil and gas investments using a unique stock rating framework designed to measure and rank the quality and risk characteristics of listed sector equities.
John has worked as a policy economist, corporate business strategist and investment market professional for over 30 years after starting his career in the Commonwealth Treasury.
Within the mining industry, John has been involved in trading physical commodities and futures in Australia, London and New York as well as international mergers and acquisitions. As an investment strategist and fund manager, his most recent roles have included raising funds for investment in early-stage mining investments and portfolio structuring.
